I promise I didn’t: I did actually get through a few different pairs of shoes last week, but the week was so busy I didn’t have time Christian Louboutin photograph them, which, of course, means they don’t count! D’oh!
Anyway! Here is the first installment of the challenge, and after all of the trouble I went to to get my Mad Mary pumps in the first place, I figured it was only right that they should be the first pair of shoes I “rescued” by wearing Louboutin Shoes hem! As luck would have it, an opportunity to do just that presented it in the form of a friend’s birthday drinks on Saturday night, so the Mad Marys were GO!
I wore them with a purple dress from ASOS.com, and suspected I’d be the most overdressed person in the room, as usual, but as it louis vuitton urned out, I needn’t have worried, because people were wearing everything from jeans to sequined mini dresses!
These shoes are lots of fun to wear, and, of all of my shoes, are the ones that seem to get most attention: they always get lots of News Blog omments, and I’ve bonded with many a fellow shoe-lover who’s come over and asked me about them, so I guess they’re a good conversation-starter too.
So, one pair down, seventy pairs to go!
How’s everyone else getting on with their challenge?
Christian Louboutin is The shoe designer on everyones lips at the moment. He’s the man behind the sassy high heels with the red sole. Everyone from celebrities, fashion people and the women on the street adores them. The hefty price doesn’t seem to stop anyone from buying them. Even though Christian Louboutin launched his brand in the early 90’s, it wasn’t until the last years that his empire really exploded. But he must have known that women would fall in love with his red sole a long time ago, cause in 1997 he filed for U.S trademark protection of the red sole. And theres no surprise women love this man, he’s one and only goal is to “make a woman look sexy, beautiful and to make her legs as long as he can”. What else can a woman ask for?Louboutin started with the red sole to give a single pair of stilettos a little more energy. He used red nail polish at first but after the huge success, it became a permanent thing for him, and today all he’s shoes have red soles. According to the man himself, the red sole is there to seduce men.
The Louboutin collaborations are always much talked about and he’s been involved with everything from Laduree who creates the delicious french macaroons to Piper-Heidsieck’s limited edition bottle of fashionable champagne and latest for Barbie. The last one definitely being his biggest success. And that wouldn’t be with your five year old. Even before the collaboration was confirmed, fashionistas and Barbie collectors was getting high on the gossip. The much talked about Barbie line was sold out within literally minutes on the web and pictures was circulating like never before.ow Christian himself describes his shoes: “I prefer shoes that undress to shoes that dress. A successful shoe is a shoe that accentuates nudity. The woman remains entirely nude when she wears those shoes. The shoe becomes the privilege of nudity … If you are very chic you might not need an extra drop of chicness, so you go for the sexy side and buy my shoes because they are … tarty. We get very smart women coming in and buying a pair to feel a little more sluttish. And then, thank God, we also get the hookers coming in the store, who buy my shoes because they are superchic. You see, whatever you have, if you add a drop of the opposite, then it just becomes a little more sexy.” Christian Louboutin’s shoes has been declared as the Most Prestigious Womens shoes in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
